Victoria Jones

Associate Pastor, Equipping Ministries

Vicky Jones serves as the Equipping Pastor, which means that she supports Adult Sunday School and other classes as well as Senior Ministries. Vicky’s early years – when she was learning to speak! – were spent in Casablanca, Morocco, and then Montgomery, Alabama. She finally arrived in Texas to learn “Texan-speak” and eventually returned after a sojourn at Union Presbyterian Seminary (DMin) where she met her husband Winfield who serves as pastor at First Presbyterian Church of Pearland. Vicky has served in both large and small Texas churches as well as on the staff of Houston’s Presbytery of New Covenant. She has two grown children and three grandchildren.

Christyn Soland

Adult Ministries Director

Since October 2010 Christyn Soland has been serving in MDPC’s Equipping Ministries as the Adult Ministries Director. Working with so many different people and ministries at MDPC – from young adults to seniors; small groups to strategic initiatives – is truly a dream job. Christyn became a Christian in high school though Young Life and volunteered with the organization for several years while studying at The University of Texas in Austin. On evenings and weekends you can find Christyn taking classes at Fuller Theological Seminary, writing, travelling, or sampling new restaurants and coffee shops around Houston.

Brett Hurst

Minister to Relationships

Brett Hurst has served MDPC as an associate pastor since 1997. He currently serves as the Minister to Relationships. Brett provides leadership to a variety of MDPC ministries, including Men’s and Women’s Ministries, Marriage & Parenting, Weddings, and Sports and Rec Classes. Brett and his wife Kellie are both native Texans with two grown children. Brett is a graduate of the University of Texas and was ordained into full-time ministry in 1993 at Sagemont Church. He also served as a pastor at Second Baptist Church. In 2007, Brett and Kellie founded Home Encouragement Ministries, Inc. serving marriages in Greater Houston.

Brandon Gaide

Minister to Next Generation

Brandon came to MDPC in 2011 as Next Generation Minister. He works to connect MDPC’s different generations into a cohesive community, and also oversees ministry for college students and young adults. In addition, Brandon developed and leads the Sunday evening Fifth Service. He grew up in Texas and Indonesia, and graduated from the University of Texas, Regent College, and Fuller Seminary. Brandon is married to Kelly, and they have the World’s Cutest Daughter, Charlie Grace. He loves his family, photography, coffee, teaching the Word of God, and exploring dive restaurants. Brandon’s life has been sustained by God’s persevering grace.
