“Gloria” from the Messa di Gloria
by Giacomo Puccini
Two Suites from The Many Moods of Christmas
by Robert Shaw & Robert Russell Bennett
MDPC's Sanctuary Choir and a professional orchestra will perform a free Christmas concert of carols, more carols, and the melodic beauty of Puccini!
Under the direction of Charles Hausmann, the Choir will present two suites from The Many Moods of Christmas by Robert Shaw and Richard Russell Bennett with such beloved carols as "What Child Is This," "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing," "Bring a Torch, Jeanette, Isabella," and "Angels We Have Heard on High." This is your chance to sing carols accompanied by a professional orchestra!
The festive evening continues with a sacred work by the Italian opera composer Giacomo Puccini, who wrote the popular secular operas La Boheme, Tosca, and Madame Butterfly.
In addition, the audience will have an opportunity to sing "O Come, All Ye Faithful" and "The First Noel" with the choir and orchestra.
