Welcome to High School at MDPC!

MDPC’s High School Ministry is focused on Jesus Christ and His teachings and instruction for our lives! We love to have fun and be silly, but rest assured that all of our joy overflows from a deep and genuine love of Christ. We offer many different types of activities in an effort to meet the needs of all different types of students. You are invited to come along and join us in our journey in figuring out how to live a life centered on Jesus!

High School Mission Trip to New Orleans

June 23-29, 2013

Cost: $375

The people of New Orleans are still suffering from Katrina’s wrath. Will you join Adventures in Mission and MDPC Youth to help rebuild their lives?

In 2005, Hurricane Katrina swept through New Orleans, striking a devastating blow to the livelihood of every resident. Nearly 80% of the city flooded, leaving a trail of destruction. Overnight, thousands of people became homeless and unemployed.

As you walk the streets of New Orleans with your prayer team, you will meet people who feel overwhelmed and abandoned. You’ll connect with these people’s pain as you listen to them share their stories. Your heart will break as you meet people of every race and class caught in a downward spiral of despair.

You can bring excitement for the future to the city’s youth as you connect through sports programs and share the hope and promise of Jesus with them. Our team will bring the provision of God to life as we serve food for the hungry that still struggle to get by.

You can help rebuild those lives and restore hope. You can show them that God is faithful, even through the most impossible tragedies.

We hope you’ll join us in the jazz capital of the world, New Orleans!

High School Mission Trip to Uganda

July 30-August 10

Open to current High School Juniors and Seniors

There are well over 2 million orphans in the east African country of Uganda, largely as a result of HIV/AIDS. Most of these orphans live with a grandparent or other relative, but some of them have no one able to care for them. The Lulwanda Childrens’s Home provides loving care to some of these orphaned and abandoned children, and currently is home to 110 children between the ages of 3 and 14 in Mbale, Uganda.

The purpose of our trip is to be an encouragement to the Lulwanda children and staff, and to join with them in service and witness to the surrounding community in Mbale, Uganda. We also seek to be shaped and changed into the people that God has called us to be through our experience in Uganda.

Please note that there is an application process for this trip. If you are interested in going to Uganda please complete the application and email it in to mcollins@mdpc.org.  The deadline for applications is February 12, 2013. However, you can turn them in whenever you are finished. The earlier the better. You will also need to schedule an interview when you turn in your application.

Join us as we humbly share God’s love and hope with the people of Uganda!
