Food bank donations go WAY down over the summer...

Food pantry shelves are emptied out over the summer due to a decrease in donations. And it coincides with children being home without the benefit of school food programs.  Help us bless our neighbors by supporting MDPC's food drive benefiting the food pantry run by our ministry partner, ECHOS (Epiphany Community Health).

There are two easy ways to give:

1. Purchase directly from the ECHOS Amazon Wish List. You may have the items delivered to your home then bring them to the church by June 6 or have them delivered directly to ECHOS. To have items delivered directly to ECHOS, on the first page of Checkout select from Other Addresses “ECHOS Food Pantry Gift Registry Address":

2. Or use the Amazon Wish List to shop at your local grocery store and bring the items to MDPC. Tables to drop off items will be at the Front Office and also in the hallway outside the Parlor/Fellowship Hall.

Collections dates are Sundays, May 23, May 30, and June 6. However, if you can't donate by June 6, MDPC will accept food items throughout the summer. Please note on your box or bag of donations that the contents are intended for ECHOS. Thank you, MDPC!

More about the ECHOS Food Pantry

Food pantry services are provided free of charge to all who come to ECHOS. In 2020, ECHOS distributed food to more than 40,000 individuals and more than 3,000 individuals received diapers in the drive-through pantry. More than 32% of those served were children under the age of 18. The nutritious food distributed at the Food Pantry improves the health of the ECHOS families who suffer from food insecurity.

There was a 15% increase in the number of people coming to the ECHOS for diapers and nutritious, non-perishable food items in 2020, and the need continues to grow.
