Since arriving at MDPC in 2017, Clay’s pastoral ministry focuses on Christian discipleship for adults through Bible study, small groups, and theological training. His education includes a Doctor of Philosophy in Philosophy and Apologetics (Trinity Theological Seminary and University of Liverpool) with a dissertation on C. S. Lewis and postmodernism, a Master of Divinity (Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary), a Master of Arts in Communication (Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary), and a Bachelor of Arts (East Texas Baptist College). He is married to Cathy, and they have three adult children living in North Carolina and Maine. He is a member of ECO’s Standing Theology Committee and has served in Presbyterian churches since 1983 in Texas, Tennessee, and North Carolina.
