In 2025, Steffanie began a new season at MDPC when she stepped into the newly-created role of Worship & Music Director. She will oversee the entire department, including all three styles of English worship.  Steffanie first came to MDPC in 2008 to sing with MDPC Sanctuary Choir under the direction of her mentor and former teacher, Charles Hausmann. She studied vocal performance and choral conducting at the University of Houston’s Moores School of Music. After many years as a choir director in public middle and high schools, Steffanie became an educational researcher working for The University of Texas at Austin’s Meadows Center for Preventing Educational Risk where she worked with English language learners at Houston ISD campuses. Later, she joined HISD as a school leader specializing in school improvement where she was inspired to return to the University of Houston for her Master of Education degree and Texas School Principal certification. In August 2022, Steffanie joined the MDPC Staff as Children’s Music Director.
