Food Ministries Update

Food Ministries Update

Food Ministry has long been important to the MDPC worshipping body, and the surrounding community. Through many conversations, staff surveys, and the work of a Food Ministry Task Force, MDPC has decided to transition to a new food service model. This conversation incorporates considerations from our Master Planning Team, while also taking into consideration the daily and weekly needs of MDPC ministries and Outreach Partners.

Beginning in August, we will move from on-site meal preparation to a catering model under the leadership of a Banquet/Catering & Hospitality Manager (see posting below). This person will be an MDPC employee who oversees catered meals for weekday lunches and hospitality for church events. They will work with each ministry department to plan and host events, coordinating across ministries within MDPC and sourcing food from various Houston vendors. The job posting can be found here, and as details are finalized, we'll share more information.

We are profoundly thankful to the volunteers and chefs who have served through the years and we hope that you will continue to serve in the future. Each brings connection, commitment, and excellence that allow community to develop around the enjoyment of food! Jesus ate with people, and so do we!

We are incredibly grateful to ECI for their partnership and excellence by which they have met our needs and serviced a wide variety of requests. Their service has been a blessing, and we believe this partnership has been a true win-win for both organizations during this season.

Please note: MDPC Cafe is open for lunch throughout July, except for the week of Summer Celebration (July 13-17). However, there will be no All-Church Lunch in July or August.  Details to follow!

Thank you for your prayers and patience!
