With just a small investment of time each week as a mentor, you can make a big difference in the life of a young person by mentoring at Spring Woods Middle School. Requires only 30 minutes/week as a commitment for the school year.

MDPC started the IMPACT Mentoring Program at Spring Woods Middle School in Spring Branch ISD (SBISD) over 20 years ago. This program begins in early October for the 2025-2026 school year and runs through early May. Mentors in this program select one day a week to meet with their 6th grade mentee during the school lunch period (11:15 - 11:45am). The mentoring program at Spring Woods Middle School (SWMS) provides an ongoing stable presence of a caring adult in the life of a child. These students have “self-selected” to participate in the mentoring program and are considered “on the brink of success”. Female mentors are matched with female students and male mentors are matched with male students.

We ask that volunteers in this program commit to mentor for one school year. You will have to register with SBISD and there is a background check conducted. You will also have to attend a one-time SBISD training course.
