Join Team MDPC for this annual all-church day of service, when MDPC leaves the pews to serve some of our local outreach partners. There are service opportunities on both Saturday and Sunday of CITC weekend.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Church in the City?

One of MDPC’s Advantage Goals is to serve together in the city one Sunday a year. Outreach is an important part of our life as a church family, and we want to serve our city well for Christ. This will be a day for us to worship God and to serve those whom Christ has called us to serve.
Registration is required (except for home projects). Project details and links to register are below.

Is there childcare?

Each project has age guidelines in order to ensure that projects are meaningful for everyone participating. Kids’ Meals bag decorating in the Summit Room is appropriate for ages 2+ if your child is excited about participating. Children 4+ should register for age-appropriate projects.
Free childcare:
Saturday, 9:45am-1pm • 3 months-3 years old • By reservation only (opens soon)
Sunday, 8:00am-1pm • 3 months-3 years old • No reservation required

Do I need to wear a Church in the City T-Shirt?

CITC T-shirts are encouraged for all participants but not required. Shirts will be available for purchase for $10 when you register online, with pickup in the Sanctuary Lobby on Sunday, February 15.
Or come by the Outreach office to purchase in person (cash – exact change only, check, or QR code), Monday-Friday, Feb 2-20, 9am-5pm. Outreach offices are located on the main hallway of the Ministry Center (hallway leading to the Sanctuary). Just ring the bell!
Feel free to wear a past year's CITC T-shirt, too!

Can I help by donating inventory?

Beginning Sun, Feb 1: Toilet paper (any size package), NEW men’s large crew socks, and feminine hygiene products
Beginning Sun, Feb 15: Sandwich loaves of white or wheat bread for Kids’ Meals (please no Texas toast-style or specialty/fancy bread)
Drop-off locations: Parlor Hallway, Front Office, Grand Staircase, CLC Lobby
Thank you!

What else do I need to bring?

Please try not to bring purses and other items to project sites as safe storage is limited. Leave as much as you can at home.

What about the offering for that Sunday?

We will have offering boxes in the Parlor hallway and CLC lobby, or you can give online at give.mdpc.org.

Is there a cost?

There is no registration fee for CITC.

What about transportation to off-site locations?

Participants provide their own transportation to all locations. We encourage carpooling from home or from MDPC!

Will lunch or breakfast be provided?

No, we will not provide breakfast or lunch, but snacks and drinks will be available in the Amphitheater hallway and on location at off-campus projects.

What if I have more questions?

Please contact Julie LaRue at jlarue@mdpc.org.
